About Notemine

Short Answer

We want to know what you are thinking and how you are feeling!

Long Answer

Notemine grew out of a project developed three years ago called BoxedThoughts out of an interest to see how people would post their thoughts when given a limited space under the guise of anonymity.

Notemine grew from just posting thoughts, to making connections through those thoughts and emotions.

Users can only post every thirty minutes, as to not spam the site, but to make thoughts that carry substance. They can only edit their previous thought, as once a thought is made, it becomes permanent - you cannot change what you have thought about.

Mission

Define the "Emotional Graph", connect users through their thoughts and emotions, and contribute data back to academic research.
  • Help users improve their communication through emotional feedback from other users.
  • Connect users through their emotions (ie. Connect 'happy' users with 'sad' users).
  • Use emotional data collected to develop algorithms in analyzing sentences for emotional context.
  • Explore new methods of communication using thoughts and emotions.
  • Provide an outlet for visual and textual creativity.

Tools

Notemine is currently in version 2.0 beta. It was built completely from scratch within the span of a month with the help of the Symfony framework, and lots of late nights consuming sports drinks.
